Nicholas Jeffrey Berthiaume, 39, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at River Ridge Center in Kennebunk, after a long struggle with complications from a stroke.

He was born in Portland, Maine on February 3, 1986, a son of Ronald and Joyce (Braley) Berthiaume. He grew up in Dayton, attended Dayton Elementary School, Saco Middle School, and graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 2004.

Following school, Nick held several different jobs before finding his niche as a small business owner. He opened one of Maine's first independent iPhone repair stores in Scarborough. His vision allowed the business to flourish, leading to the opening of a second location in Yarmouth. Though he later sold the company, Nick never lost his entrepreneurial spirit and continued to explore many new ventures. He later started a website design business. People continued to call him for repairs, he was the first thought anyone had when it came to electronics.

In 2016, on his 30th birthday, Nick met his soul mate, Heather Anderson, and from that point on the couple was inseparable. They settled in Dayton where they raised their three children, Kennedy, Brooks and Olivia. Nick was truly one of a kind, determined to carve his own path. With his charm, huge smile, and great laugh he was impossible not to love.

In his younger years he was a risk taker excelling in various sports including baseball, soccer, lacrosse, snowboarding and wakeboarding. Many will remember his flips off the diving board at his childhood pool. He made friends with everyone, was always smiling, and knew how to work the room at any gathering. His parents couldn't go anywhere without being asked if they were Nick's parents, to which they would respond with "who wants to know?"!

His true passions were music and food. He spent his free time trying to master the best chicken wings or the juiciest burger, then proudly sending a photo to friends and family to show it off. Trying a new restaurant and spreading the word to everyone was a true joy for him. His taste in music was as eclectic as it comes, many will hear a song and be immediately reminded of Nick.

Most of all Nick enjoyed being a father, and the time he and his children spent together.  He will be missed, but will forever live on in their hearts.

Nick is survived by the love of his life, Heather Anderson; by his parents, Ronald and Joyce Berthiaume; by his children, Kennedy Berthiaume, Brooks Berthiaume, and Olivia Libby; by his brothers, Jason Berthiaume and wife Sandy, and Alex Berthiaume and wife Lauren; as well as by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be from 10:30AM to 1:00PM, on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel in Saco. Funeral Service and Burial are private. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Rustic Dreams in Lyman from 12pm - 4pm.
