Nicole Gagnon

Old Orchard Beach

Nicole (Nikki) Marie Gagnon (age 44), sadly and unexpectedly passed away on May 26th. She was the second daughter born to Gretchen Ann (Faulkner) Gagnon, and Roger Ernest Gagnon Jr. She is survived by her oldest brother, Philip Gagnon, and Michelle Lawson; as well as her younger brother Joseph Gagnon. She had two very loving, beautiful, and smart children, Aaron Gagnon and Makayla Gagnon. There were no grandbabies yet, but she did have a few nieces as well.

Nikki grew up in many towns as she went through her early years: Gorham, Westbrook, Biddeford, Saco, Old Orchard Beach, and South Portland. She gained many friends as she grew up as well. She had her first child, Aaron at a young age so she got her GED once it was the right time, shortly after he was born.

She always loved anything to do with science and psychology, so she got her college bachelor's degree in Substance and Alcohol Abuse Counseling, at University of Augusta. She had her second child, Makayla, while finishing college. Unfortunately, she did get pretty sick after having Makayla, so her beloved mother helped take care of her children while she finished her education. She worked briefly as a manager at a food service company, but was put on disability due to her overall health.

Nikki did suffer through physical, emotional and mental pain through the years, as she did lose her best friend almost 10 years ago. Her disability restricted her from doing a lot of the things she wished she could do. Her mother helped an enormous amount in her life, whether that was her kids or just helping out with daily living means. Her children were her world, and she was never shy to post to facebook of how proud she was of them. She did her very best to get through every day with a smile, and usually had an interesting fact to share or conversation to have.

She loved anything to do with history, crime, aliens, religion and so much more. She was an avid researcher and would always share her findings with her loved ones, as well as neighbors and friends online. She never settled on one religion, she believed in a little bit of every religion (Maybe she made her own). She never cared what anyone thought of her, and always did what she wanted and loved doing. Aside from the research, she was always known for her bright striking red hair in her young adult years, as well as always having a face of makeup.

As she would say, "Life is short", so live it to the fullest. Don't be afraid of what others think of you. "Be you and stay weird", as she would put it.
