Biddeford

Norman M. Archambault, 80, of Biddeford, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the RiverRidge Center in Kennebunk.

He was born in Biddeford, Maine on March 4, 1946, the son of Maurice and Pauline (Demers) Archambault. He grew up in Biddeford and graduated from Biddeford High School, class of 1964.

Following graduation, Norman worked briefly in the Pepperell mills.  He soon transitioned to the Biddeford Fire Department, where he remained until his retirement in 2009.  Norman was incredibly proud to be a Firefighter, and he treasured the bonds he made with his brothers in the department.  On his days off, Norman also worked as a contractor, doing remodeling jobs and building new homes.

Norman married the love of his life, Elizabeth Raymond, on September 9, 1994.

In his younger days Norman was an unbeatable arm wrestler, and made a fair amount of money betting on these matches.  He enjoyed going for rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  In his later years Norman and Elizabeth were fortunate to go on many cruises together, visiting islands like Barbados, Aruba and Puerto Rico.  They also had a routine of dining out for breakfast together every morning.

Most of all he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Norman was predeceased by his brother, Robert "Bob" Archambault.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Archambault, of 32 years; by his daughter, Tina Albert (Jeff); by his son, Paul Archambault (Jackie); by his three step-sons, Michael Raymond (Pam), Scott Raymond (Jessica) and Jerry Raymond; by his nine grandchildren, Colby Albert, Lexi Nadeau (Andrew), Brian Archambault (Allison), Christina Shaffer (Jonathan), Scott Archambault (Mikayla), Paige Raymond, Drew Raymond, Drake Raymond and Jacob Raymond; and by many great-grandchildren.  Norman is also survived by two brothers, Richard Archambault (Charlotte) and Rene Archambault (Karen); as well as by several nieces and nephews.
