Paul M. Rheaume

Paul Rheaume, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Parkinsons.

Paul was born on June 11, 1952, to George and Arlene (Johnson) Rheaume. Paul grew up in Winthrop, graduating from Winthrop High School, class of 1970. He attended Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute earning a Drafting Degree.

Throughout his career, Paul owned and operated T.W. Dick in Gardiner a Steel Manufacturing Company. He was very business oriented and a true professional. Paul treated his employees and customers as family. Also, Paul truly enjoyed his time coaching the girls basketball teams at St. Mary's Grade School in  Augusta and at St. Dominic Academy in Auburn.  He was very proud to be their coach. He served on the Winthrop Town Council and the Winthrop School Committee for several years.

Paul was an avid golfer and a lifelong sports enthusiast. His greatest joy in life was his family. Always putting family first, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. He enjoyed gatherings at their camp on Woodbury Pond in Litchfield, hosting many cookouts and bonfires. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and baiting with his Dad. Paul relished getting together with friends every Monday to play poker.

On April 7th, 1973, Paul married the love of his life, Diane Roy. He knew the moment he met her that he wanted to spend his life with her. Paul and Diane shared 53 beautiful years together. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Melissa and Anthony.

Paul leaves behind his wife Diane of 53 years, daughter Melissa Blier and wife Angela, son Anthony Rheaume, sister Denise Bond and husband Jeffrey, twin brother David, brother Scot and wife Marcie.

Paul was a proud grandfather to Ethan Blier, Josselyn Blier, Cameron Blier and Lucy Rheaume. Sisters-in-Law Pauline Fitzgerald and partner Michael Quinn and Elaine Palmitessa. Paul also leaves behind his furry companion Mr. Marley, a nephew, several nieces, cousins and many friends.

Paul touched the hearts of many and will be remembered for his infectious smile, hearty laughter, and the way he made everyone feel welcomed.

Per Paul's wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM, on Friday, June 26th, 2026, at St. Joseph's Cemetery Chapel, 120 West Street in Biddeford, Maine.
