Old Orchard Beach

Pearl May Smith, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 after a long bought with cancer. Pearl was wife to the late Robert H. Smith for nearly 40 years. She was born in Lincoln on April 14, 1943, the daughter of Thomas and Viola Paradis. Pearl was a life long member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church where she joyfully participated in the Folk group at Masses. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking part in her children's school events, activities and scouting. She shared her love of games, crafting, and painting with them.

Pearl is survived by her daughters Janeen Lapierre (husband John) of Old Orchard Beach and Barbara Heavin of Saco, and daughter-in-law Marie Smith of Lincoln. She was predeceased by her son, Peter Smith of Lincoln.

Pearl enjoyed her grandchildren:  Harrison Lapierre (partner Jennifer Drew), Abigail Poisson (husband Jeremy), Danielle Heavin, James Smith (fiancé Beth Stewart), and Stephan Packard.  She adored her great grandchildren Taylor Grady and Carter Poisson.

Pearl also leaves behind her cherished sister, Sandra Barker (husband Gary), her baby brother, Phillip Paradis (wife Linda), and sister-in-law Karen Paradis. She was predeceased by brothers Cecil (wife Marie), Albert, and Thomas Paradis.
