Philip L. Boisjoly
Saco
Philip L. Boisjoly, 70, of Saco, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, February 27, 2023.
He was born in Biddeford on March 10, 1952, a son of Arthur and Eleanor (Calden) Boisjoly. Philip graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School, class of 1970 and attended Husson College.
Phil loved to get into conversations with people he just met. In the 70's he tried his hand at various occupations including Lifeguard in Old Orchard Beach, selling real estate for Sherman Realty and doorman for the Old Whaler and the Brunswick. He established Yankee Trader Realty and operated it for several years.
On November 24, 1979, he married his wife Michelle Leroux and they started their family together.
After beach life and settling down, he completed the Iron Workers Apprenticeship Program at Southern Maine Community College and worked on the Seabrook power plant.
Phil worked as a mail carrier for the United Postal Service first in Boothbay Harbor, then in Portland from 1985-2003 and also owned and operated Ne're Beach Family Campground with his wife Michelle, in Old Orchard Beach, from 1992 – 2001. Phil then reinvented himself and sold cars in the automotive industry first at Quirk Chevrolet and then Prime Hyundai until his retirement in 2015.
In his free time, Phil enjoyed fishing and gardening. He closely followed politics and indulged in talking politics with like-minded people. He was a longtime fan of the Patriots (along with a running bet for lobster with his step father Don and brother Fred) but particularly followed Tom Brady's career. Phil also loved to spend time with his wife, two girls, granddaughter, large extended family and friends. He will be sadly missed by many.
He was predeceased by his mother Eleanor Libby, his father Arthur Boisjoly, step father Donald Libby, brothers Bruce Boisjoly and Frank Libby, step brother Mark Ross and step sister Theresa McCutcheon.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Boisjoly, daughters Nichole Boisjoly, Melissa Boisjoly and granddaughter Finley Atwood and step mother Barbara Libby. He is also survived by siblings Robert Boisjoly and husband Brian, Fred Libby and wife Beth, step sister Cathy Callen and husband Tim, step brothers Dannie Ross, David Ross and wife Christina, sisters-in-law Judy Libby and Carol Boisjoly, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be from 4-6PM with a Funeral Service at 6PM on March 8, 2023 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, in Saco. Burial will be private at a later date. To view Philip's memorial page, watch his family video or leave an online condolence, please visit www.cotefuneralhome.com
