Rachel M. Mondor, 90, of Saco, passed away early Monday morning on May 19, 2025 at the home of her daughter Nancy Souliere.

She was born in Biddeford on May 10, 1935, a daughter of Adjutor and Adelina (Ouellette) Letourneau. Rachel was educated in Biddeford Schools.

At the age of sixteen Rachel worked as an apprentice and received her license in cosmetology.  At age nineteen she owned and operated Rachel's Beauty Salon until the birth of her children.  Her brother Rene took over the business and it became Rachel & Rene's Beauty Salon. She continued to work with him as a hair dresser for more than 50 years. Many of her clients became close friends throughout the years.

In 1956 Rachel met and married the love of her life Norman Mondor. Rachel enjoyed dancing and going to dinner with Norman.  She looked forward to holidays and special occasions, anytime she could be with family and friends.  She will be sadly missed.

She was predeceased by her husband Norman Mondor on October 14, 2003, and by one son Russell Mondor and by seven siblings Lorraine Frechette, Alfred "Pete" Letourneau, Jean Paul Letourneau, Rene Letourneau, Yvonne Letourneau, Noel Letourneau and Roland Letourneau.

She is survived by five children Kathryn Clegg and husband Michael, Linda Mondor, Richard Mondor and wife Denise, Donna Monk and husband Wayne, Nancy Souliere and husband James, and daughter in-law Julie Mondor.  She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren Katie, Matthew, Mariah, Kimberly, Zach, Richard Jr, Jessica, Erika, Jennifer and Kristyn, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be from 9-11 AM Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated the same day at 11AM at Most Holy Trinity Church, Saco.  A Graveside Service will follow and Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.  Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
