Ralph Joseph Bolduc, 82, of Saco passed away suddenly on Monday, July 4th, 2022, at his home.

He was born at the Webber Hospital on Elm Street in Biddeford on January 4, 1940.

Son of the late Oscar and Exilda (Vachon) Bolduc, Ralph is survived by his fraternal twin brother Robert Joseph Bolduc and his wife Jane of South Portland, and beloved Uncle Ralph to nephews Michael Donovan Bolduc and his wife Tiffany of South Portland, and Christopher Robert Bolduc and his wife Jennifer of Norwood, Massachusetts. He was a great uncle to Emily, Ethan, Matthew, and Andy Bolduc who all loved him dearly and will miss him very much.

Ralph worked decades giving of his time and talents for companies such as Seal Rock Beverages and Donovan & Donovan, Inc., vending machine manufacturer, as well as Xuron Corporation where he continued to work until his untimely passing.

Uncle Ralph was devoted to his family, friends, and community. He received honorable mention in 1982 and awarded in 1983 the Kenneth C.M. Sills plaque as the state's outstanding Little League Manager. A 12-year coach and manager, he was described as someone who outperformed by trying to understand and help individual players both on and off the field. He was fortunate to visit South Williamsport, PA, for the Little League World Series on a couple of occasions; first with members of the team, and subsequently with his family in August of 2016 in what would be a trip forever to be cherished.

Ralph's other passions in life included camping, fishing, and hunting. He taught many about how to operate the boat, rig a plastic worm weedless, build a campfire, set-up a tent, or ready a camper for weekend getaways, imparting his own vignettes of life lessons, the big catch, or the one that got away. He was a true mentor, father figure, and role model willing to relay his knowledge and experience through activities and lessons hard to find this day and age. Later in life he was seasonal at Apache Campground on Estes Lake that some would call a home away from home, making memories that will never be forgotten. Of course, his annual getaway to Solon on a fly-fishing trip was something he long looked forward to and was known to be a place where countless laughs, outdoor cooking, cards, and board game activities were shared.

Uncle Ralph would jump at the chance to take your money in a game of cards (you could always count on a few games of scat during special occasions), or a competitive and sometimes heated game of Sorry arguing the logistics and strategy of why someone was chosen to get knocked-off when it always seemed opponents ganged-up on him. Still, Ralph had a knack for engaging people in something so simple and accomplishing the unthinkable in today's world by pulling us out of the digital age in activities that do not involve staring at a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Ralph lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. For him to live in the hearts of those he leaves behind is not to die. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Visiting Hours on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 11 AM – 1 PM with a Funeral Service at 1PM at the Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco, Maine.
