Raoul 'Ralph' A. Fecteau, 85, of Biddeford, died peacefully on June 26, 2022 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
He was born January 4, 1937 in Biddeford, the son of Armand F. and Juliette Larouche Fecteau. After Juliette's early death Armand married Lucia Bison who raised Ralph as her own.
In his early years, he worked alongside his father at the family store, Fecteau's I.G.A. on Hill Street in Biddeford. In 1955, he joined the US Marine Corps and proudly served his country until 1961. Mr. Fecteau then went on to Saco Tanning Corp, where he worked for 22 years and became foreman. When the Tannery closed, he became facilities manager at St. Andre's School and later worked as a groundskeeper at Dutch Elm Golf Course in Arundel. He ended his career working at Ray's Small Engines.
Mr. Fecteau was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Church at Good Shepherd Parish.
On May 22, 1982, he married Claurette F. Lachance Provencher and they made their home in Biddeford.
Ralph had many interests: Fishing, hunting, boating, dancing, bowling, ice skating. In his later years he enjoyed gardening, spending time in nature, watching old western movies and playing on his IPad.
He always loved spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fecteau is predeceased by his birth mother Juliette, parents Armand and Lucia Bisson Fecteau and his step-son John Provencher.
Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Claurette;
Three daughters, Charlene & Roger Ruel, Diane & John Cole, Allison & Tim Fecteau;
Three step-daughters, Susan & Michael O'Brien, Lynn & Marc Cantara and Karen & Aaron Pelletier;
Two step-sons, Normand & Jane Provencher and Marc & Melissa Provencher;
Four brothers Armand P.& Doreen and Rene A. & Alllison, of Biddeford, Andre P. & Sylvia of Bangor and Gilles & Rita of New Market, NH;
Four sisters, Lucille of Saco, Jeanne (Mrs. Conrad) Houde and Laurence (Mrs. Donald) Cantara, of Biddeford, and Claire Cressey of Windham;
16 Grandchildren: Alissa, Christopher, Bill, Sean, Logan, Samantha, Malachi, Jason, Travis, Renee, Jeffrey, Kristin, Brooke, Sarah, Laciann, Taylor, Aaron & Luke
16 Great grandchildren: Jake, Emily, Grace, Kaylee, Hailey, Colton, Anna Marie, Coura, Cheyea, Mathias, Mya, Reicher, Cohen, Oliver, Jolene, Wrigley and 3 expected this summer.
He will forever be missed!
