Raymond M. Merrill, 70, of Sebago, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Southridge Living Center in Biddeford.

He was born in Saco on September 1, 1954, a son of George and Mary (Moore) Merrill. He was educated from Thornton Academy in Saco.

Ray was a man of many talents. He was hard working with an extensive resume. Ray worked in construction throughout his life. He could be seen starting with the foundation to finishing with the building of the structure. He also owned and operated a small engine repair business. His son remembers all the snowmobiles, dirt bikes and motorcycles he repaired and some he even built. Motorcycle riding was another passion of his, from New Hampshire to Florida he had many adventures. He was known as "Harley Ray".
Ray was also a man of the outdoors. He did it all from camping, canoeing to fishing and hunting. Justin recalls his fondest memory of every Saturday at 3:00 in the morning in November eating his favorite cereal trying not to wake up his Dad as he got ready to head to the woods. Just when he didn't think Ray was awake, he'd be startled by the booming words from his Dad, "good luck! I hope you get the big one!" A family tradition was telling the stories of past generations at the Pequawket Lake house. This was a way of getting to know the previous generations and keeping family memories alive. These memories will be continued to be shared and handed down to future generations.

He is survived by his son Justin Merrill and wife Denise, Justin's mother, Mariam Jehn and grandson Bryson Merrill. Also survived by siblings Everett Merrill and wife Nancy, Greg Merrill and wife Cindy,
Maureen Martinez, Brenda West and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister in law Deb West.
