Raynold Richard Paradis

1941-2023

Raynold R. Paradis passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Wallagrass on August 10, 1941, son of Willard and Stella (Martin) Paradis. His paternal grandparents were Baptiste and Agnes Paradis and maternal grandparents were Tomas and Elise (Corriveau) Martin.

Ray was educated in Saco schools and attended Thornton Academy and was a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Institute Program.

He married the love of his life Charlene C. Gagne of Biddeford on August 10, 1963. They had three children together, daughters Denise Zahares of Old Orchard Beach, Michele Carrier of Saco, and son Ray Paradis of Somerville, MA.

Ray worked as a general manager at Midas Muffler Shop in Worcester, MA, East Hartford, CT and New Britain CT for many years. Ray moved back to Maine in the early 1970's and worked as a machinist and supervisor before accepting a position at Jarvis Cutting Tools in Rochester, NH as a Plant Facilitator for many years before his retirement.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Biddeford, and served as Grand Knight.

Ray enjoyed travelling to many parts of the world with his wife Charlene. They spent 18 winters in their beloved paradise Waikiki, HI where they made many new friends. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan attending many games at Gillette Stadium with his son Ray.

He is predeceased by his parents, one sister Doreen Martel and one brother Kenneth Paradis.

He is survived by his wife Charlene Paradis of Old Orchard Beach, daughter Denise Zahares and son-in-law Todd Zahares of Old Orchard Beach, daughter Michele Carrier and son-in-law Steve Carrier of Saco, and son Ray Paradis and daughter-in-law Amy Paradis of Somerville, MA. He is also survived by his favorite grandson Kyle Zahares of Old Orchard Beach, granddaughter Alexa Sanchez and husband Joe Sanchez of Ashland, MA, granddaughter Stephanie Zahares and partner Justin Howard of Lisbon, granddaughters Jane Paradis and Eve Paradis of Somerville, MA, and great grand-daughter Eleanor Sanchez of Ashland, MA, sister Nancy Baldwin of Windham, NH, sister Sharon Ripley of Biddeford, nieces and nephews.
