Saco - formerly of Biddeford

Real Credit, 92, of Saco and formerly of Biddeford, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Biddeford on June 4, 1930, son of Alfred and Eva (Arel) Credit. He was educated at St. Louis High School.

Real was employed 46 years in the textile industry, starting at Pepperell Blanket and subsequently at Biddeford Textile, retiring in 1993.

Real enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife visiting his son and his family numerous times to Alaska where he enjoyed fishing.  Other trips included London, Paris, Germany, Hawaii, Caribbean, the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena and various locations throughout the United States.

Real had many hobbies. He learned the art of stained glass, mastering the craft creating many items for his entire family and friends.

Many of his works are still being appreciated and admired today.  He enjoyed playing games, cards, cribbage and created his own version of the Price Is Right which continues to be played at Christmas.  The game boards he created replicated the television version and continue to be used to this day. He even traveled to Los Angeles for an actual taping of the show.

Family meant everything to Real. He valued all family traditions which brought magic and wonder to everyone's lives and was always available to lend a helping hand.  He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his wife Claire (Auger) Credit on September 27, 2019 and by one daughter Diane Reynolds on June 30, 2021.

He is survived by three children Paul Credit and his wife Deborah, Jeannine Morneau and husband Michael and Denise Gendron and husband David and by son-in-law Peter Reynolds. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Shauna Credit, Christopher Credit, Melissa Montoya, Jessica Walton, Amanda Tauro, Amy Mullen, Craig Gendron and 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob Briggs, Aidan Walton, Lucas Briggs, Austin Tauro, Emma Montoya, Jackson Tauro, Cooper Mullen, Sutton Montoya, Morgan Walton, Grace Gendron, Isaiah Tauro and Norah Gendron.

Visiting hours will be from 11AM – 1PM Tuesday, October 18, 2022, with a Funeral Service at 1PM, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco.
