Richard G. LaBrecque

Richard G. "Dick" LaBrecque, 75, died Friday morning at home surrounded by love.  He was born in Biddeford on April 23, 1947, the oldest child of Joseph Leopold LaBrecque and Marguerite R. (LeBrun) LaBrecque.   He was educated at St. Andre's School and was a 1965 graduate of St. Louis High School where he lettered in football.

He married Shirley Huppe on September 2, 1968 at St. Andre's Church in Biddeford.

Dick served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard.  After his service, he worked with Potter's Furniture in Biddeford for many years.  He worked as Manager of the Furniture Market in Portland for most of his career.  He then owned and operated Moon Doggie Lunch Van in Biddeford with his son Randy for many years, assisted by family members.

Dick enjoyed broomball, bowling, country music, and owning and riding in Corvettes.  He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his granddogs.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph L. LaBrecque in 1995, Marguerite LaBrecque in 2007 and one brother Gerard LaBrecque in 2018.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley (Huppe) LaBrecque of Biddeford, one daughter, Renee Puckett and her husband Ed of Saco, two sons, Randy LaBrecque and his wife Kelly (Boislard) LaBrecque of Biddeford and Ryan LaBrecque of Biddeford.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Owen, Ariana, Brayden and Casey and three siblings, Robert LaBrecque and his wife Doris of Biddeford, Ronald LaBrecque and his wife Marie of Biddeford and Diane LaBrecque and her wife Kathy Kelley of North Waterboro, sister-in-law, Karen (Camire) LaBrecque of Saco, several nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests that everyone wear masks at both the calling hours and the funeral Mass.  Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 10 th from 4 to 7 pm. at Cote Funeral Home Chapel in Saco.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 11 th at 11:00 am. at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford.
