Rita
Farley
Aug 6, 1937 — Feb 19, 2025
Rita (Larouche) Farley, 87, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on February 19, 2025 with loving family by her side.
Rita was born on August 6, 1937 to Edmond and Germaine (Rancourt) Larouche. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1957.
She overcame a disability of having one leg shorter than the other and went on to become captain of her cheerleading squad at St. Joseph's High School, cheering on the athletes of St. Louis High School.
On October 28, 1961 she married Robert Farley with whom she created a loving family and had five sons. She cherished her family and was a pillar of support for her husband, sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita was always by her husband's side as he ran for political office in several local elections. Drawing from her cheerleading years, she was a loud and proud supporter for all her son's and grandchildren's athletic endeavors. She ran mom's taxi to get her sons wherever they needed to go for their activities and was always present at any and all awards ceremonies or performances.
She worked throughout her life, starting as a store clerk at Pete's Market and later as a bookkeeper at H. Polakewich Store in downtown Biddeford. After all of her kids were in school, she started a 33 year banking career that culminated in her retirement from Kennebunk Savings Bank at the age of 75.
Rita was a woman of strong faith who gave her spare time to her church volunteering as an active member of the women's sodality, a eucharistic minister and a kitchen helper for the funeral luncheon program.
She is predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Robert and her son David. She is survived by her sons Mark Farley and fiancé Dawn Gilmour, Scott Farley, Steven Farley and wife Jenny, Kenneth Farley and wife Christina, her grandchildren Nikki, Brittney and husband Robert Fifield, Matthew, Mitchell and Madelyn, her great-grandchildren Ella and Tate, her sister Therese (Larouche) Letourneau, her sister-in-law Lorraine Farley and several nieces and nephews.
