Rita J. Giroux

Formerly of Arundel

Rita J. Giroux, 84, of Portland and formerly of Arundel, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in Saco on December 11, 1938, a daughter of Thomas and Laura (Sevigny) Bloomfield.

On August 29, 1959, she married her husband Albert Joseph Giroux. She loved being a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family.

Rita also worked in various industries throughout the years. Most recently, she cherished working with the Sisters Servants of Immaculate Heart of Mary at Bay View for 10 years, retiring in 2011.

Her hobbies included shopping and cooking. Pork Pies were one of the family's  favorites.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert Joseph Giroux on July 4, 2012 and by three siblings Henry, Paul and Terry.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Brady and her husband David, two grandchildren, Matthew Brady and wife Shannon and Nicholas Brady and wife Kristal and two great grandchildren Vivian and Julian. She is also survived by three siblings Rose Conley, Gloria Anctil and Lilly Chenard and several nieces and nephews.
