Rita M. Golojuch

Rita M. Golojuch, 73, of Saco, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire.

She was born in Biddeford on August 23, 1951, daughter of Henry and Anita (Rousselle) Pelchat. She graduated from St. Louis High School, class of 1969, where she made countless friends and lasting memories.

She married her husband Walter on October 26, 1974.

Rita was known for being the life of the party, with a wonderful sense of humor and a radiant smile that could brighten any room. She cherished time spent with family and friends, always bringing joy and laughter to gatherings, holidays and special occasions.

An avid traveler, she explored new places with excitement and created treasured memories during her many getaways with her Knights of Columbus family. Rita was also a passionate reader and enjoyed her beloved book club. Dining out with friends was another favorite pastime, and she always enjoyed a good meal with great company.

Professionally, Rita dedicated 27 years to Bugbee-Brown before continuing her career at Maine Health, where she worked for 28 years. She was admired for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering consideration of others.

Her two cats and two grand dogs, who she adored, brought her much happiness in her later years.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Rita is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Walter Golojuch; her son, Jeffrey Golojuch and Michelle Cloutier; grandchildren Ryan and Brayden, and daughter Jennifer Golojuch-Borden and husband Brian. She is also survived by siblings Diane Fecteau and Robert Pelchat and wife Beverly, brothers in law Frank Golojuch, Donald Golojuch and wife Nancy, Richard Golojuch and wife Nancy, sisters in law Maryann Gagne and husband Ron and Alice Paulhus and husband Gregg, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be from 4-7PM Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco. A Funeral Mass will be at 11AM Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford.
