Rita P. Vose

Rita P. Vose, 99, of Biddeford, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco.

She was born in Saco on August 19, 1924, a daughter of David and Yvonne (Cote) Adams. She was educated from Saco schools.

Rita was employed by Woolworth's Department Store beginning in 1962 before joining Corning in Biddeford in 1969. She retired in 1986. During retirement, Rita spent much of her time babysitting her great-grandchildren. She considered babysitting the best years of her life.

As a young woman, Rita held the office of President of the Women's Auxiliary of the York County Fish and Game in Lyman. Through the many stages of her life she consistently enjoyed bowling on a family team and playing cards with friends, including poker with her Ledgemere friends until 2021. She was a good cook and loved having people come to dinner.

Rita was known as the family caregiver. She always made herself available to care for family and friends whenever needed. She was a wonderful person you could always depend on and will be sadly missed.

Rita is predeceased by her parents, her husband Richard Vose in 1997, her son Ronald Vose in 2018, her daughter Sandra Williams in 2020 and siblings Paul Adams, Richard Adams, Raymond Adams and Doris Lachance.

She is survived by two sons-in-law Ralph Williams and Robert Miniutti, two daughters-in-law Kelly Vose and Diane Desrosier, one brother David Adams and wife Sue, two sisters-in-law, Gloria Adams and Maddy Adams, five grandchildren; Deb Beauchene and husband Dennis, Vince Miniutti and wife Kim, Christine Cote and husband Paul, Jeffrey Vose and wife Laura, Corey Vose and wife Katie, and ten great grandchildren; Bryce and wife Katie, Shane, Derek, Hayden, Bailey, Devin, Caleb, Abigail, Emilee and Julianna.

Rita's family would like to send their sincere thanks to the Seal Rock Stratton-Bluff Nursing Team, the Activities Team, and the Physician's Team that kept her active, entertained, happy and comfortable over the past year and a half.

Visitation will be from 10AM-12PM Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco.
