Obituary

Robert W. St Michel

Biddeford

Robert W. St Michel, age 75, of Biddeford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Biddeford on May 13, 1949, a son of Ovila and Alice (Labbe) St Michel. Robert graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1967.

After high school, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Once stateside he joined the US Army Reserves for a total of 21 years of military service.

On September 5, 1970, he married the love of his life Pearl Maurice after meeting four years prior while dribbling a volleyball down Main Street in Biddeford. The couple enjoyed life and had their first daughter Tammy in 1972. They were blessed again, seven years later, in 1979, with the birth of their second daughter Jennifer.

Robert was employed as a maintenance technician handling many tasks during his career for Morningstar / Corning Company. He retired in 2011 to spend more time with family and friends.

Robert was a member of the American Legion. He was also a member and volunteer for the Rod & Gun Club in Dayton. He enjoyed teaching gun safety classes. A passion he shared with many.

He had many adventures with his wife Pearl, including spending hours riding his motorcycle. Their camp had a special place in his heart, where he would hunt, explore the four-wheeler trails and spend time outdoors. But nothing compared to his family. He is fiercely loved by his family and he loved them back just as much. He was a devoted husband, father and Bumpy (Grandfather). Bumpy was special. One of his favorite pastimes was taking his wife Pearl and their pup pup Bella for rides to the beach, sometimes it would end up being several beaches. Apple, strawberry and blueberry picking and surprise ice cream dates with his girls and grandkids were just some of thememories that mean so much. Christmas and getting together with his family were his favorite times. To know Bumpy was to love him. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife Pearl St Michel of 54 ½ years, his children Tammy St Michel and husband Scott Henaire, Jennifer McCurry and husband John and grandchildren Johnny and Hannah. He is also survived by siblings Richard St Michel and wife Carol, Roger St Michel and wife Susan, Elaine Valliere-Wittig, Ronald St Michel, and sister-in-law Jayne Holmes and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
