Robert D. Stone, 84, of Saco, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Biddeford on May 31, 1939, a son Chase and Rosanna (Carrier) Stone. Bobby graduated from Thornton Academy High School.

Earlier, Bob was employed by Saco Manufacturing for several years. He married his wife Bonnie Bolduc on September 15, 1962. The couple started their family together. He later made a career change and spent the next 26 years as a Saco Police officer. He protected and served the city until retiring in 1988.

During retirement and not one to sit still, Bob worked for CK Burns and also for Trustlow Adult Day Care Center.

Bob was a Ham Radio enthusiast. His call sign was N1OMZ. If he was not on his Ham Radio, he could be found tinkering in his garage listening to country music.

Most of all, Bob loved his family and the time they spent together. He enjoyed family gatherings and holidays. Many special memories were made that the family will hold on to and cherish forever. He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by three brothers Everett Stone, Francis Stone and Lee Stone.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Stone, two children Robert D. Stone Jr. and wife Patty, Bridget E. Stone, grandchildren Kayla and Matt and great grandchildren Axil, Kit and Mary. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
