Ronald Philip Cartier (Ron)

August 17, 1946 - February 2, 2025

Ron was a gardener. Drawing from his roots as a graduate of St. Louis High School ('65) and St. Francis College ('69), he labored to cultivate the literary sensibilities of the teenagers to whom he taught English for four decades at Biddeford High School.

He spent more than 54 years growing and nurturing a strong and happy marriage to his beloved wife Anita and tending to his family, including daughters Beth (Jones) and Jen (Cartier).

Ron was grateful for the many relationships that bloomed with family and friends (of many species - human, feline, canine, avian and many more) in the course of his blessed life and for the opportunity to share the bounties of his spectacular vegetable garden with friends and, frequently, perfect strangers.

In his 78 years on earth, Ron admired and exemplified integrity, generosity, and hard work. For those of you who would like to make a donation in his name, nothing would please him more than knowing that you are giving of your time or resources to help grow an organization that cares for people or animals or ensures that his descendants will enjoy the same democratic freedoms that he did during his lifetime.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco.

The family requests no cut flowers but will be happy to receive live plants.
