Ronald Dean Therrien, 51, of Biddeford, passed away at his home unexpectedly on May 5, 2021. He was born in Biddeford on April 14, 1970, son to the late Ronald Nason and Jacqueline Nicole Therrien.

Ron was educated through the Biddeford School system - which is where he cultivated a lifelong love and devotion to all things sports. Coach Landry was a huge influence on him and instilled in him many qualities that not only shaped the man he became but also drove him to share his love of sports with his community. Having no children of his own, Ron was a devoted coach for Biddeford Youth Football for over 20 years.

Ron was a walking encyclopedia for anything having to do with sports. He could remember statistics for almost anything with as much ease as most adults can recite the alphabet. He was always willing to share the sports knowledge he had tucked away in his database with anyone willing to listen. You want to talk about the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox? Ron would! For as long as need be for him to adamantly convey his utter disgust. Sorry guys, but he was a diehard Miami Dolphins and NY Yankees fan. He also shared love for the Edmonton Oilers and WWE.

With his gentle spirit, heart of gold and devious smirk, Ron could elicit many reactions from those around him all while causing some justified confusion. You see, Ron was a legend (in his own mind) and always had a joke (aka witty, smart-ass comment) on standby, ready to be dispatched at a moment's notice, appropriate or not.  Once he unleashed his "in the moment" masterpiece upon you, you would often struggle with how to react first. Punch him? Hug him? High five him for his brilliant, quick wit? There was never a wrong answer with Ron, he was open to any and all options, again, appropriate or not. Regardless of which way you reacted, it was sure to induce laughter.

Ron was a people person through and through. He would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it. He loved to cook. More times than not he would cook more than necessary just so he could call someone and say "Hey, I made some extra, would you like some?" He lived to see his nieces and nephews participate in any number of sporting events. When he got a chance to catch up with you, his eyes would smile as he relived the play-by-play with the same level of excitement as the day it happened.  Family was family, friends were family, and family meant everything to Ron.

They say the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long, Ron was that candle. He will be deeply missed by those blessed enough to have known him.  His legacy will be carried on and his unparalleled generosity will never be forgotten.

Ron is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 22 years (together for 32),  whom he always affectionately referred to as "kid", Lynn (Fontaine) Therrien; fur babies, Chara, Misha, Brady, Vinny, Sophie and Emma; brother, Gerald Therrien and wife Heather; in-laws, Richard and Paulette Fontaine; sisters-in-law, Kendra and Owen L. Williams III, Lise and Kevin Parks, Karen Leary; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Parenteau, Owen L. Williams IV, Trevor Therrien, Jack Williams, Alex Leary, Nicholas Therrien, Sarah Parks, Alexandra Nason, Josh Nason; loving friends, Don and Marie Chabot, Chris and Natacha Chabot, Michelle and Adam Baroni, Mike and Deb Gagne; half siblings, Bobby Nason, Peggy Nason, Nancy McIntyre, Susie Nason, Carolyn of Texas, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford at 2pm on Friday, May 14th. In honor of Ron, please wear your favorite sports attire, something casual or something red - his favorite color.
