RoseAnn DeGeorge, 78, of Saco, Maine, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, following a long battle with pulmonary hypertension.
RoseAnn was born on November 26, 1943 in St. Leon, Indiana, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Bischoff) Alig. She was educated in the St. Leon school system and graduated from Oldenburg Academy, class of 1963. RoseAnn met the love of her life, George DeGeorge, in Oakland, California, and they were married shortly after. They built their family in Vermont where RoseAnn attended and received her Master's Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition at UVM. In 1998, they returned to RoseAnn's hometown of St. Leon, Indiana to be closer to her family. In the midst living in Vermont and in Indiana they lovingly raised four wonderful children together; John, Alan, Christina and Sandra. In 2011 they moved a third time, finally settling in Saco, where they became an integral part of the community, making countless friends. Being very giving in nature and they regularly helped with programs like the Saco Meals Program.
RoseAnn and George loved to travel. They had the good fortune of visiting places like Germany, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, to name a few. RoseAnn loved flower gardening, particularly knock-out roses and her beautiful hydrangeas, and taught Tai Chi for many years. Most of all, RoseAnn loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many.
RoseAnn is predeceased by her husband, George DeGeorge; and her two brothers, Leroy Alig, and Richarg Alig.
RoseAnn is survived by her four children: John DeGeorge and his wife Erika, with children Andrew, Paige, and Samantha; Alan DeGeorge and his wife Kate, with children Charlotte, Campbell, and Alice; Christina Payler and husband Aaron, with children Cameron, and Alyssa; and Sandra Leavell with children George, and Miles. She is also survived by her Brother Paul Alig, her sister-in-law Diane Alig, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
