Roxie (Soper) Chasse, 94, of Saco, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco. She was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on February 15, 1927 the daughter of Edwin and Della (Hatch) Soper. Roxie spent her early years in Ellsworth, and in 1938, her family moved to Kennebunk. She graduated from Kennebunk High School, class of 1945.

During high school, she worked summer vacations and part time for Western Auto, First National Store, and Bowdoin's Drug Store. In 1946, Roxie married Royal M. Chasse and moved to Saco. She went to work for Sears and Roebuck's ordering office and was a web drawer for Bates Manufacturing Company.

Roxie was involved with her community. She and her husband were members of the Saco-Biddeford Country Club and the Saco Yacht Club.  In 1967, they bought a house in Kennebunk and resided there until Royal passed away in 1994.  Roxie was a member of the Senior Center Webhannett Club and Webber Hospital Auxiliary.

Roxie also volunteered for the Saco Food Pantry.  In 2008, she moved to Arizona and came back to Saco in 2010.  She had many interests, including music, playing cards, walking and sewing. She also liked to bowl, fish and go boating. At one time, she did research on antique watches and clocks.

Mrs. Chasse was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church

Roxie is survived by a niece Cathy, two great nieces Darcy and Dina, three great great nephews Daniel, John and Jack and one great great niece Julianne.
