Obituary

Sandra K. Miminos

Sandra K. Miminos, 79, of Burlington, Massachusetts and formerly of Saco, passed away surrounded by her family early Thursday morning on May 2, 2024 at home.

She was born in Saco on September 14, 1944, a daughter of Emanuel "Manny" and Eleanor (Drakoulakos) Koutoulakos. Sandra graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1962. After high school, Sandra married her husband Mark Miminos on September 20, 1964 at St. Demetrios. The couple moved to Massachusetts where they had their sons Anthony and Gregory, who kept her very busy. Sandra and Mark never lost their love of Maine as they continued to summer at Ferry Beach in Saco, keeping close to their family members. They loved boating and cruising to all the ports on the Maine Coast as far north as Eastport and Campobello Island in Canada.

Sandra enjoyed reading, fashion and crafting her cooking skills; always willing to try new recipes for the family. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lexington, MA, participating in the women's Philoptochos and her philanthropic spirit led her to support many charity events. Sandra had a fondness for fine wine, spaghetti and meatballs, pocketbooks and sparkly things. She loved her sisters, family traditions, holidays and especially her two sons. Most of all, Sandra loved becoming a YiaYia and spending time with her grandchildren who adored her. The family will cherish the time they spent with her and all the memories made.

Sandra is survived by her husband Mark Miminos, two sons Anthony Miminos and wife Maura, Gregory Miminos and wife Jennifer and grandchildren Madison, Maria, Miles and Stephanie. She is also survived by her sisters Stephanie Koutroulis, Anne Maragus and husband John, Selina Koutoulakos as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
