Shirley A. Cote

Shirley A. Cote, 88, of Biddeford, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born in North Adams, Massachusetts on January 12, 1936, the oldest of 12 children of William and Gertrude (Hillard) Cote.

She met the love of her life Joseph Cote and they were married on September 24, 1960.

In 1977, the family moved to Florida. Shirley was employed in the restaurant industry for many years. She retired in the late 1990's.

A year after her husband passed, Shirley left Florida in 2013, to be with family in Maine.

Shirley had many hobbies. She liked watching soap operas and Nascar. She loved animals and at one time had nine cats at home. She also enjoyed the warm weather and many trips to Disney World with her family. Special memories were made that the family will hold on to and cherish forever. She will be sadly missed.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Cote in 2012 and by several siblings.

She is survived by two children, her daughter Cheryl Cote and husband Michael, with whom she resided and son Joseph Cote. She is also survived by two grandchildren William Cote and wife Amanda, Ashley Farris and husband Nicholas, four great grandchildren Ella, Claira, Khloe and Owen, several siblings and nieces and nephews.
