Steven E. Severance, 69, of Saco, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

He was born in Bangor on August 7, 1951, a son of Albion and Marie Severance.

He graduated from Windsor Locks High School in Connecticut, class of 1969.

Steven proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Earlier, he was employed as an electrician by Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut. While employed there, Steve met Rene his future father in law and wife Rachel, and their story together began. They were married on July 30, 1983, and moved to Wells. He worked for Spencer Press in Wells for over 25 years. During retirement he was employed by Home Depot in South Portland, a job where he enjoyed interacting with his coworkers and customers.

Steven looked forward to his Navy Reunions with his shipmates from the USS Concord who affectionately referred to him as "Doc". He also liked cooking and playing cards. He was a man who loved his family and friends and was loved back by them. He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents Albion and Marie and by his sister Anne-Marie.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rachel (Frechette) Severance, his children Kimberly Morrison and her husband Kevin, Scott Dickman and four grandchildren Molly, Emily, Aren and Leah and great granddaughter Josephine.

Visiting Hours will be from 4-7PM Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco.
