Tina L. Charest

Biddeford

Tina L. Charest, 53, of Biddeford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough early Sunday morning on January 7, 2024.

She was born in Biddeford on September 24, 1970, a daughter of Conrad and Charlotte (McKenney) Gaudette. She was educated in the Saco school system and graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1989.  Growing up as a middle child she was known for being quite a rebel in her younger years and stories can still be heard of her Lewis Ave adventures.

Tina had a heart for serving others and found great fulfillment in giving compassion as a caregiver and long-time volunteer in her community.

Tina was a devoted Mother, who would do anything for her children. She attended all of her children's sporting events, and showed her support and dedication to their teams by always bringing snacks and baked goods to games and practices.  Tina enjoyed taking in the outdoors and took the her family  on multiple camping trips.  She often tried to make her children delicious meals, but never quite got the knack of cooking.

Tina's life had setbacks and battles, but she fought bravely and succeeded in her journey of rehabilitation.  Tina was proudly eight years clean from her substance abuse and continued to use her experience with this recovery to help support and motivate others facing similar difficulties.

For all the things Tina valued and considered precious, there was nothing she cherished more than her family, and she so loved being Nana to her peanut., Solomon.

Her siblings meant the world to her, and she did all she could to keep their bond strong.  Tina will be sadly missed by many.

Tina is survived by her two children, Melinda Lessard and husband Joshua, and Christopher Charest; by her grandson Solomon Lessard; by her Step-Father Robert Bourgault; by her siblings Shawn Gaudette, Tammy Fleurent, and Bobbi Jo Gulledge, as well as by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco.  A celebration of life will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at New Life Church, Biddeford.  All are welcome to attend.
