William "Bill"
F. Vierow
May 14, 1940 — Nov 23, 2025
William "Bill" F. Vierow
Scarborough
William F. Vierow, known widely as Bill, was born on May 14, 1940, in Oak Park, IL. He attended elementary through high school in Oak Park and then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Bradley University.
On May 11, 1962, he married Marion C. Christensen. Together they raised a family of three children and moved across the country for Bill's work. He worked for Sangamo Electric Co. in Illinois, the Mallory Corporation in Indiana and Massachusetts, and Components and AVX in Maine. Upon his retirement from AVX, he founded ETS, Inc., an engineering consulting company.
Bill loved to share his passion for science with children and did so by providing guest lectures to science classes in local elementary schools. He was an avid and accomplished amateur tennis player, and he enjoyed canoeing the rivers and lakes of Maine. In the winter he enjoyed playing hockey, and he would flood the family's garden so that friends and family could skate in the backyard.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Vierow; children, Karen Kirkland, Heidi Vierow, and Eric Vierow; son-in-law, Yuval Zacks; and grandchildren, Kelsey Vierow, Jacob Zacks, Connor Kirkland, and Katelyn Kirkland.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Dyer Library, 371 Main St., Saco, ME 04072.
Visitation will take place from 10:30AM-11:30AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will follow immediately after visitation.
