William "Bill" O'Donnell, 64, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
He was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on November 15, 1958, the son of Joseph and Hazel (Farwell) O'Donnell.
Bill graduated from Newton North High School, class of 1976. During high school he spent summers at the family camp in Ocean Park and working at the Soda Fountain. After high school, Bill went on to study at Ottawa University in Kansas.
While living in Waltham, Massachusetts, Bill was employed by Prime Computer. He also worked for the Fernald School for several years.
In 1986, Bill moved to Maine and started his own company, William O'Donnell Construction. For the past 35 years, he was well known for his meticulous work and eye for detail. His finish work in carpentry is still being admired and enjoyed in many homes today.
On August 13, 2006, Bill married the love of his life, Renata. They met in Florida while Bill was visiting close friends on vacation. Their love grew and their life together began and they had a son Shawn in 2008.
Bill had an artistic side, listening to music, playing drums and even sculpting art. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and animals. He was known for his jokes and will be missed at the poker table by his friends. Most of all he loved his family and cherished his time with them. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife Renata O'Donnell, his son Shawn O'Donnell, and sisters Margy O'Donnell and Kathy O'Donnell and her husband Barry. He is also survived by three nieces Emily, Hailey and Julia and one nephew, Kevin.
Private family services are being held. A public Celebration of Life will be held in August of 2024 (day TBD) at the Temple in Ocean Park. To view Bill's memorial page or leave an online condolence, please visit www.cotefuneralhome.com
