Old Orchard Beach

Obituary

Yvette St. Amand, 94, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at St. Andre Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born in Biddeford on April 25, 1928, a daughter of Honore and Rose-Anne (Binette) Dutremble. She was educated from Biddeford schools.

On April 21, 1951, Yvette married her husband Leo Paul St. Amand while he was still serving his country. Yvette went on to have two daughters while continuing to enhance her career from production worker to floor manager.

She was employed by various shoe companies including Kesslen Shoe and Bruce Shoe, where she developed her love for shoes, retiring in 1990 from Morning Star in Kennebunk.

Yvette formed many lifelong friendships, enjoying time with her friends whether it was dancing, drinking coffee or playing cards. Most of all, she loved her family and the time she spent with them. She always had a way of making holidays special. During retirement you could often find Yvette & Leo biking and walking around Old Orchard Beach and transporting their three grandchildren to after school activities. The family will hold on to and cherish these memories forever. She will be sadly missed.

She was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Church for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband Leo Paul St. Amand on January 28, 2019 and by three brothers Urbain "Ben", Lucien "Babe" and Richard "Dick" Dutremble and by eight sisters Irene Plante, Lucielle Casey, Pauline Goulet, Claire Pelletier, Therese Dagesse, Rachel Levesque, Yvonne Paquette and her twin sister Paulette.

She is survived by her two daughters Paulette Wagner, Nancy Golojuch and husband Don, three grandchildren Zach Golojuch and wife Jackie, Alysha Wagner and Brittney Golojuch, three great grandchildren Aryanna, Kaly and Colson. She is also survived by one sister in law Cecile Dutremble and many nieces and nephews.
