Frank W. Storey died Monday, November 14, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at his home in Kennebunk, Maine.  Of Scottish decent, Frank was born June 19, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois.

Following graduation from Ithaca High School, Ithaca, New York, Frank graduated from Ammunition School and was assigned to the Ordnance Depot in San Francisco, California.  Frank proudly served in the 7th Army Headquarters Battery 14th Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theater during World War II.  A graduate of Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, Frank was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and sat on the Board of Directors of Hotel Ezra Cornell.  Frank met his cherished wife of 68 years, Shirley, while they attended Cornell University.  Frank earned a Master's in Business Administration from New York University and CPA from New York State.  For several decades Frank dedicated himself to an accomplished career starting on Wall Street and retired from Jeannette Corporation as Senior Vice President - Finance, Treasurer and Controller outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Prior to recently moving to Maine, Frank and Shirley resided in Texas.

Surviving Frank are his wife Mary Shirley Haas Storey originally of Poughkeepsie, New York; son Scott Paul Storey of Cleveland, Ohio, his wife Mary Bragdon Storey, grandchildren Philip Bennett Storey and Kara Elizabeth Storey; grandsons from Scott's former marriage, Shea Paul Storey and Brian James Storey; daughter Pamela Storey Cole of Saco, Maine, grandchildren Zachary Paul Cole and Gabrielle Elizabeth Cole; granddaughter Kristin Cole Ives, her husband Michael Patrick Ives and their daughter Sophie Annabelle Ives; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Frank was preceded in death by his sister Laverne Lawrence and his son-in-law Richard Cole.

Frank's favorite poem (which he recited many times) was The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert Service.  In remembrance of Frank, perhaps take a read… while listening to bagpipes… and enjoying a fine Scotch on the rocks.  Frank will be interred at the Southern Maine Memorial Veteran's Cemetery in Springvale, Maine at a later date.  Those wishing to do so are asked to consider a donation in memory of Frank to VNA Home Health Hospice Foundation, PO Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402.
